Where to submit

Where: Cherokee County Probate Court, 90 North Street, Suite 340, Canton

How: Present Certification of Completion of Qualifying Premarital Education at time of application. Both applicants must sign in presence of Deputy Clerk.

When: Applications must be completed by 4:10 P.M. for same-day service. Office hours 8:30 A.M. to 4:10 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Step-by-Step Guide

Find a qualified premarital education provider in Georgia
Complete at least 6 hours of premarital education together as a couple within 12 months before applying
Obtain your certificate of completion
Present the certificate at the county probate court when applying for your marriage license
Save $40 on the state portion, then pay the remaining county fee. For example, $16 in Gwinnett County or $28.50 in Fulton County
