Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions do couples typically need?
Ideally for premarital counseling I recommend 6-8 sessions. We can adjust based on timeline for each couple. In order to receive the marriage license discount, we will need a minimum of (4) sessions.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, I offer sessions via Carepatron to couples living in the state of TN.
What happens in the first session?
In the first session, we'll begin doing intake sessions with your relationship history, an intro into each of your family backgrounds, and what you want to focus on during our sessions together so we can plan accordingly for the following sessions.
Do you accept insurance or provide receipts?
I do not accept insurance at this time.
What's your cancellation policy?
I require a 24 business hour notice to avoid a cancellation fee. If the session is cancelled under the 24 business hour mark, the full session fee will be applied.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Yes, everything we discuss is confidential unless you disclose harm to self, harm to others, or any child or elder abuse.
Do you meet with us together or separately?
Typically we will meet together for each session! If there's a specific issue that comes up that I think it would be appropriate to do individual sessions for each of you, we will discuss that in session.
Do you work with interfaith or intercultural couples?
Yes! I do enjoy working with interfaith or intercultural couples to help them find common ground and shared values.
