About Faramalala
I work with couples to help them understand each other more deeply, communicate more clearly, and reconnect in meaningful ways. My work honors both evidence-based practices and the deeper emotional and relational wisdom that supports healing, growth, and lasting connection. Together, we explore relationship expectations, the impact of family-of-origin experiences and emotional baggage, strengthen communication, and use structured assignments to help couples practice new skills and achieve their shared goals, while integrating spirituality into sessions with the couple’s permission.
I am a great fit for couples who are committed to growth, open to self-reflection, and willing to do the work needed to improve communication, strengthen their relationship, including those who value an evidence-based, clinically grounded approach that can thoughtfully integrate faith and spirituality when desired and with the couple’s consent.
Clearer, more effective communication, a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and perspectives, and practical tools for navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, and strengthening emotional connection—while shifting the focus from changing or “fixing” one’s partner to greater self-awareness and personal responsibility.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, I offer online sessions in the State of Virginia.
How many sessions do couples typically need?
The number of sessions varies based on each couple’s goals, the complexity of concerns, and how consistently new skills are practiced outside of sessions. Many couples notice meaningful progress within 6–12 sessions, while others choose to continue longer for deeper healing, ongoing support, or maintenance. We regularly review goals together to ensure therapy remains focused, effective, and aligned with your needs.
Do we need to share your faith tradition?
Not at all - I work with couples of all backgrounds. I integrate faith if it's important to you, but it's not required.
What happens in the first session?
We will explore how the couple met, their shared values, current strengths, and relevant childhood and family-of-origin experiences. I will also explain my therapeutic approach, collaborate with the couple to clarify goals and expectations, and answer any questions they may have.
What's your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Last-minute cancellations may be charged a fee.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Yes, everything is confidential unless there's risk of harm. I won't share information with family or friends without your permission.
Do you meet with us together or separately?
Almost always together a couple.
